Eastwood welders: the current lineup, what each needs from your panel, and how the warranty works
Eastwood MIG 180, MIG 250, Elite MP and TIG welders on rated output, input current and breaker from the manuals, plus the three year warranty and return terms.
Eastwood built its name selling restoration tools by catalog, and its welders follow the same model: sold direct, supported by phone, repaired by Eastwood. The machines publish most of what you need. The one gap matters for comparisons.
Eastwood publishes rated input current and breaker sizes for most of its welders, and covers its own machines for three years. Two cautions: none of its manuals states the temperature its duty cycles are rated at, so they do not compare directly with Lincoln or Miller, and warranty repairs are done only by Eastwood, with freight both ways at your cost.
Eastwood welders on paper
From Eastwood’s manuals and product pages, checked 2026-10-15. Input current is at rated output.
| Model | Processes | Rated output, 240 V | Rated output, 120 V | Input current | Breaker and plug | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MIG 180 | Mig, flux core | 180 A at 30% | 90 A at 30% | 29.6 A (240 V), 24 A (120 V) | 30 A (240 V), 20 A (120 V); 6-50P, 5-15P adapter included | 25.3 lb |
| MIG 250 | Mig, flux core | 250 A at 60% | 80 A at 60% | 46.2 A (240 V), 20 A (120 V) | 50 A (240 V), 20 A (120 V); 6-50P | 46 lb |
| Elite MP140i DC | Mig, DC tig, stick | 120 V only | Mig 90 A at 30% | 21.0 A max | Dedicated 20 A; 5-15P | 33.7 lb |
| Elite MP200i DC | Mig, DC tig, stick | Mig 200 A at 15% | Mig 90 A at 40% | 36.0 A max (240 V), 21.0 A (120 V) | 50 A (240 V), 20 A (120 V); 6-50P | 34.2 lb |
| Elite MP200i AC/DC | Mig, AC/DC tig, stick | Mig 200 A at 40% | Mig 80 A at 60% | Stick 40.0 A max (240 V) | 50 A (240 V), dedicated 20 A (120 V); 6-50P | 95.7 lb with cart |
| Elite MP250i DC | Mig, DC tig, stick | Mig 250 A at 60% | Mig 140 A at 60% | Stick 53.5 A (240 V), 51.1 A (120 V) | Dedicated 50 A (240 V) or 20 A (120 V); 6-50P | 159.8 lb |
| TIG 220 AC/DC | AC/DC tig, stick | DC tig 220 A at 25% | DC tig 140 A at 25% | Stick 42.5 A max (120 V) | Not published | 22.9 lb |
| Elite TIG 225 AC/DC | AC/DC tig, stick | Tig 225 A at 20% | Tig 120 A at 20% | Stick 42.5 A max (120 V) | 50 A (240 V), 20 A (120 V); 6-50P | 34.2 lb |
Two numbers stand out. The Elite MP250i lists 51.1 amps of stick input on 120 volts against a 20 amp circuit, and the TIG 225 and TIG 220 list 42.5 amps on 120 volt stick. Those are input figures at full output, and both sit above the 20 amp circuit Eastwood specifies for 120 volts. How this meets your panel is in welder amp draw and what size breaker a welder needs.
No longer in Eastwood’s welder listing: the MIG 135, MIG 175, TIG 200 and the handheld Versa-Cut plasma cutters. Eastwood now also sells Rockwood and Woodward Fab machines; those are separate brands with their own, shorter warranties, and are not covered here.
Duty cycles with no temperature
Eastwood’s manuals define duty cycle as a percentage of a ten minute period, but none states the ambient temperature of the test. Lincoln, Miller and Hobart state 40 C (104 F), the international standard. A rating made in cooler air reads higher, so treat an Eastwood percentage as not directly comparable. Why that matters is in welder duty cycle.
Warranty and returns
From Eastwood’s customer service page and the warranty statement in its manuals, read 2026-10-15:
- Three years on Eastwood-branded welders, per the product pages and manual lists. Rockwood tools carry shorter cover.
- The clock starts on the date of delivery from Eastwood.
- RMA first. Call Eastwood for a return authorization before sending anything; Eastwood makes the final warranty call on welding and cutting equipment.
- You pay freight to and from Eastwood.
- Only Eastwood repairs count. Eastwood will not accept responsibility for repairs made elsewhere, and no third-party service network is published.
- Proof of purchase from Eastwood or an authorized Eastwood reseller. The warranty is non-transferable.
- Excluded: consumables unless defective, abuse, neglect and lack of maintenance.
Separately, most products carry a 90 day satisfaction guarantee, with a 10 percent restocking fee and return shipping at your cost. Eastwood also sells an extended service plan at checkout.

Support
Eastwood offers free lifetime tech support by phone on weekdays and by chat most days, publishes its manuals on each product page, and sells replacement parts for its welders online. It has four retail stores, in Illinois, Ohio, Maryland and Pennsylvania, which handle returns with a receipt; none is listed as a repair center. Country of manufacture is not published.
Buying from the right seller
Eastwood’s warranty needs proof of purchase from Eastwood or an authorized Eastwood reseller. Eastwood runs its own Amazon storefront, so check that the seller is Eastwood. These listings matched Eastwood’s model names when checked on 2026-10-15:
Where Eastwood sits on this site
The MIG 180 appears in best mig welders and welders for auto body, and the Elite MP200i DC in best multiprocess welders. Eastwood’s arc spot weld gun is explained in spot welders. For brands with a dealer service network, compare Lincoln, Miller and Hobart; for another direct-sold brand, Everlast.
Frequently asked questions
How long is the Eastwood welder warranty?
Eastwood's product pages for its own welders say a 3 year warranty is included, and the manuals list the MIG 180, MIG 250 and Elite MP welders under three years. Rockwood-branded tools sold by Eastwood carry shorter cover. You need an RMA number before returning anything, you pay freight both ways, and only Eastwood repairs count.
Can I return an Eastwood welder?
Eastwood's returns page offers a 90 day 100 percent satisfaction guarantee on most products, subject to a 10 percent restocking fee, with return shipping at your cost and shipping charges not refunded.
Where are Eastwood welders made?
Not published. None of the Eastwood manuals or support pages we read states a country of manufacture.
Can the Eastwood MIG 180 run on 120 volts?
Yes, with the included adapter cord from a 5-15P plug to the machine's 6-50 connector. Its manual gives 24 amps of input on 120 volts and asks for a 20 amp breaker, and output drops to 90 amps at 30 percent, against 180 amps at 30 percent on 240 volts.
